Google Spam Guide Adds Advice on Pages Made for Sharing

Google has added indexing guidance for pages created for sharing to its spam guide, according to a Search Engine Journal roundup of search industry developments. The roundup also covers restaurant ordering controls, report dates and revenue from AI Mode.

The spam guide update concerns how pages intended for sharing are handled in indexing. The available summary does not specify the guidance or identify particular page types, so marketers should consult the updated guide before changing how they manage those pages.

Restaurant ordering controls are another subject in the roundup. The summary does not explain which controls are covered, who can use them or whether their availability has changed. Businesses that rely on online orders should check the details before making changes to their ordering setup.

The roundup also addresses report dates and AI Mode revenue, although the summary does not identify the reports, give dates or provide revenue figures. It therefore does not establish what those items mean for individual campaigns or businesses.

What this means for marketers

Review the spam guidance if your site creates pages for sharing, and check the underlying updates before adjusting indexing, restaurant ordering or reporting practices. The available summary offers a starting point, but not enough detail to support specific operational changes.
